Snowbird Housekeeping

To ensure policies and procedures remain effective in keeping both employees and facilities safe. The housekeeping program will ensure that all buildings will have an adequate supply of cleaning equipment in order to maintain a sanitary and safe working environment.

During the fiscal year of 2022 / 2023 we are working to accomplish growth by being fully staffed for our program. We have added services to the new Jacob Cornsilk Complex that houses all snowbird tribal programs, in addition we have provided services to the new ᏓᏗᏬᏂᏏ program. We are up to date on training in safety. Our six employees provide services to the following programs: Snowbird Recreation, Snowbird Community Health, Snowbird Library, Snowbird Police Substation, Snowbird Facilities, SCCS Family Support/Transitional Housing, EBCI TANF/Child Support, SCCS HELP/Housing/Building Maintenance, Snowbird Youth Center, Snowbird Language and Culture programs, Graham County Indian Education, Snowbird Senior Citizens Center, Cherokee County Senior Citizens, and Snowbird Transit.

Objectives

Training for staff:
– OSHA and/or HIPPA for proper training and disposal of medical waste, and protocols for bio-hazardous waste and material.
– Sanitation guidelines and any pertinent rules or regulations regarding housekeeping knowledge.
– Safety procedures and reporting of accidents, maintaining equipment defects.
– Keeping staff knowledgeable regarding safety procedures and proper equipment use while performing daily duties.
