Snowbird Recreation
Snowbird Recreation department is a public community rec center with a gym, indoor track, fitness rooms for cardio and weights to maintain and improve health and well-being. We develop a well-rounded and effective schedule of recreational opportunities for all ages, in a safe, fun and well-supervised environment.
Our goal is to instill ideals of good sportsmanship, fair play, and teamwork. Staff are committed to develop the best possible public relations between the department and Snowbird Community.
Program Highlights
We are now providing services from the Jacob Cornsilk Complex thus, we are able to offer more activities and gain more participants than we previously did. Our new and hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 7:45am – 8:30pm, and Friday 7:45am – 4:30pm. We started by offering travel league basketball and brought back adult women’s league volleyball during the winter. In the spring we offered tiny-trotter basketball season, adult men/women basketball league, and our annual fishing derby. During the summer, we averaged 15-18 at open court, 12-15 daily in fitness rooms and 5-7 daily for indoor track. We have also had new programs use our facility for the health and well-being of their clients like the Kanvwotiyi and PHHS physical therapy. We have also been able to assist with the seniors that play in the senior games by offering them a place to practice in basketball, shuffleboard, cornhole, and pickleball during the weekday and weekends.
